Due to the State of Emergency and the developing situation with COVID-19, the Wood County Democratic Party has decided to hold only a procedural county convention, not the full event we had planned for March 21.
County Chair Dr. Judy Traylor, several members of the CEC, and the convention planning committee will be at the ABC-H&R Block Building – 200 S. Main Street, Winnsboro, TX 75494, Saturday, March 21, 9 am – 10 am (where we were planning to hold the convention) so that we can undertake the procedural matters that must be completed by statute.

If you are interested in being chosen as a delegate to the state convention June 4-6, we encourage you to sign up here by clicking on 2020.TexasDemocrats.org In-person attendance at the county convention is not required to become a state delegate. The Chair and the Nominations Committee may create a delegate list to the State Convention from those who registered online, those who register in person, and adding additional names for thirty days following the convention.

Again, we are encouraging anyone who does not need to attend the WCDC County convention to stay home on March 21.

This convention is the first step to pass resolutions to inform the direction of our Party and its Platform and to be elected to attend the Texas State Democratic Convention (Click here for more information on the Texas State Convention).

The Wood County Convention is on March 21, 2020 with doors opening at 9am and the convention starting at 10am. It will be held at:

To attend the Wood County Convention you’ll need to pre-register at 2020.TexasDemocrats.org and you will need to affirm that

1. You HAVE NOT voted in the primary of another party this voting year.
2. You HAVE NOT participated in a convention of another party during this voting year.
