Hi Everyone! This coming year we will have some new club officers, new strategy committees and a fresh start. This will be an important year and we need to hit the ground running. The Wood County Monitor had on their front page recently about the six (6) races that are being contested! Cole Hefner, representing TX 5th District (Camp, Morris, Rains, Smith, Titus and Wood Counties) is running opposed by LaWanda Prince. State Senator Bryan Hughes of District 1 (Bowie, Camp, Cass, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Panola, Red River, Rusk, Smith, Titus, Upshur and Wood Counties) is running opposed by Audrey Spanko (https://audreyspanko.com/). Carolyn Salter (https://ballotpedia.org/Carolyn_Salter) is attempting to oust Rep. Lance Gooden of District 5 (Kaufman, Van Zant, Henderson, Anderson and Cherokee Counties with portions of Dallas and Wood Counties). There are thirteen Democrats that are running for Senator Cornyn’s seat (https://ballotpedia.org/United_States_Senate_election_in_Texas,_2020). Let the fun begin!!
